My name is Shavone Morgan and I’m in desperate need of information about getting help for my 5 year old son and myself. Right now I’m currently about to be homeless with my son because of an situation in my apartments. No late rent or evictions, my apartment was flooding from three different areas for days and the apartment manager (no longer employed here) just wanted me to move out in three days and was going to keep the teaxs rent relief funds without telling me it was paid. She also filed an eviction against me and had me served (which was humiliating)  but it was thrown out by the judge because the rent was paid. The apartments then came under new management and I was allowed to stay inside my apartment for the month of October because I have no family and I’m also a survivor of domestic violence. When I was able to get away safely I immediately moved here with my son. I’m currently also trying to get my son tested for autism; and every number I call tell me to call someone else. I wanted to make the city Houston our new home. So he could recover from his life before, but I can’t get it right.

Please contact me with ANY information that could help in anyway.

Thank you if you are reading this.

Hi Shavone. I am so sorry for the late response I was out of town for business. I am so sorry to hear that you are going through so much. I truly understand the frustration and I really hope you have been able to find somewhere to go since your comment. With regards to your son… I would look into programs in your area like Health and Human services to see if they have any resources they can offer. If you were in Colorado I would have a better idea of who you could go to but I am not fully aware of any in Texas. Does your son have a regular pediatrician? If so check with them. Also, Children’s Hospital usually will have a lot of resources available for struggling parents and they should be able to give you information on getting your son tested. I hope this helped you some. I am keeping you in my thoughts and hope you find the resources that will help you and your little one.

Hi, Ms. Heather. I am from Brasil. from here , I have been following content intended for single mothers, and, among many, I have really enjoyed what you do on your blog. I’m interested in doing something similar here in my country, where single mothers are over 50 million people. Although we are so numerous, there is still no podcast aimed at this audience. I would like to know if you would be interested in helping me in this challenge. I’m a journalist, I’m 44 years old and I’m a solo mother of a beautiful two and a half year old baby. thanks for listening
